Europe's hydrogen revolution: the promise of power without pollution

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and offers the changing promise of clean energy on a massive scale. When used, so-called green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable sources such as wind or solar, offers the potential for low-carbon energy. Despite its enormous potential, building the infrastructure for a hydrogen-based economy remains a major challenge and will take time. But a European public-private partnership is trying to change that. Hydrogen today, unfortunately, is still a fossil fuel, gas-based base. But in the future, work is being done to make it green.
